Provo Canyon School is a private educational institution designed for students of ages eight to 18 in need of residential treatment. In addition to programming for individuals living with anxiety disorders and PTSD, among other conditions, Provo Canyon School (PCS) maintains high-quality academics for all age groups.
All educators at PCS have received certification in their chosen area of specialty. They have also either achieved special-education certification or are in the process of completing comparable licensure. These educators lead 120 unique course offerings every semester. Lesson plans emphasize reading, writing, and classroom communication, with the Orton-Gillingham instructional method used for students experiencing reading difficulties.
Academics are provided by the PCS faculty year-round. Beyond this, students have the opportunity to experience a traditional school day, with regular class rotation and a bell schedule. Additional strengths of the PCS academic program range from small class sizes to the use of PowerSchool, which allows for web-based communication between faculty and parents.
