Accredited by the Joint Commission, Provo Canyon School is a psychiatric residential treatment center in Utah that uses an Acuity Based Care-based model to treat adolescents with behavioral and mental health conditions. Provo Canyon School also supports the Utah Food Bank, which participates in Hunger Action Month every September.
The national initiative serves as a call to action for individuals across the country to engage in activities and events that combat hunger. Led by Feed America and its nationwide network of food banks, the campaign encourages cooperation between communities and their local food banks. Utah Food Bank’s efforts focus on their mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide and create a lasting impact on the 392,000 state citizens experiencing hunger.
Annual activities held by the Utah Food Bank in honor of Hunger Action Month include the H.A.M. It Up Against Hunger Race. The family-friendly event increases awareness of hunger issues in the state and supports the food bank’s work in Southern Utah. Held on September 29 at the Crosby Confluence Park in St. George, the 2018 race will mark the event’s fourth year.
